The Crystal Resort Sun Moon Lake

We just got back from spending time at Sun Moon Lake. Wanted to recommend the hotel we stayed at (especially if traveling with little ones). Crystal Resort - we got a good deal on Agoda and selected “pay at hotel” and they took the VAT off. The front desk people we interacted with spoke good English. We had a lake view family suite, with multiple walls of views of the water (and good blackout curtains).

The hotel provided a baby bath tub, sterilizer for bottles, and a little foot stool. They have baby beds too but we brought our own. The hotel is steps away from the lake boat that takes you to the various other areas around the lake, and it was 50NT per person.

The parking lot is free and is near the hotel - they pick you up with a golf cart and transport your luggage. The hotel has an elevator and good AC. Breakfast the first day was okay (bento box style) - and second day was much better (pasta and eggs and beef). The hotel isn’t super fancy and is a bit dated but it worked well for us and is right next to all the shops and night market stuff.

FYI shops tend close by around 7/8pm, but family mart and 7-Eleven are 24 hours. The temps for the days we were there were also a bit lower so it was nice to do morning walks. There’s also tons of trials around the lake and hiking nearby.
