Global Partners Unite to Combat Smuggling
🔹AIT hosted an event in Taipei celebrating the 85th anniversary of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and its impact on U.S.-Taiwan relations. Over 100 IVLP alumni and leaders joined to honor the program’s legacy in building partnerships and advancing public diplomacy.
AIT also launched the “America250” campaign in Taiwan, commemorating 250 years of American independence and inspiring future innovation. We look forward to seeing you at America250 events!
🔹On December 2, 2025, the Seminar on Combatting Smuggling convened law enforcement and customs experts from Taiwan, the U.S., New Zealand, Canada, the UK, Japan, and other countries. Organized by Taiwan Customs Administration and co-hosted by Homeland Security Investigations Taipei, the event provided a key forum for sharing strategies and strengthening international cooperation against transnational crime. With opening remarks from AIT Deputy Director Karin Lang, participants from both private industry and law enforcement reaffirmed their commitment to fighting customs violations and organized crime, working together for a safer global community.
